What People Think of Alien Covenant? Please see this before you watch this film.

Bore, Gore, and more bore. Covenant is a long-winded rehash of previous similar titles, Prometheus included. A series of scenes in which characters with more brawn than brains throw themselves into the meat-grinder. The gorge is spectacular and in terms of big-screen action, Covenant does well, though it should be noted most of the violence is a direct result of frustratingly moronic decisions as well as a general disregard for simple, yet potentially life-saving protocols. So if you're after a brutal murder-fest then look no further, but if you're at all interested in an intricate, lore-filled, complex and tense Alien film then re-watch the original instead.
It's better than Alien Resurrection & AVP series. Though coming from Ridley Scott I was highly disappointed with it. My only hope is that this movie was a setup for what happens next in the series. News articles state at least two other movies will be made by him. Fingers crossed. Spoiler- If David copied himself to Walter why didn't he have the memory of the log cabin? He had Walter's access code. Ridley should have shown that it was possible for them to do it. Also, it may have been better to just let her fall asleep not knowing.
Who doesn't love seeing alien movies? It just seems like we saw the same movie as Prometheus. A bunch of "smart people" make really stupid mistakes and then an Android betrays them. I can't believe it has a rating past 30%. To each their own I guess. I enjoyed "Prometheus" more, but "Covenant" is a welcome addition to the Alien franchise. While it has everything to do with the origins of the Xenomorph we have all come to know and love (and fear), they don't get a whole lot of screen time. This movie takes a different approach than all the others and places heavy emphasis on artificial intelligence and its capabilities--Well, that's all I can say without giving too much away. It's definitely a more thought-provoking film than you would expect if you don't mind the change in focus being androids instead of aliens.
Really enjoyed it. I like how it tied into the previous movies. IT was a bit slow at first but that was to build characters and it actually worked because you started to care about some of the characters they were very likable.
Watched it for the second time today. It was better than the first time, I was sitting further back and could really take in the whole picture and just like the first time I didn't touch my popcorn, the immersion was real! I like it a lot, very well made with the music, special effects and editing being pretty spot on. It is more of an action thriller than horror but that's totally ok. It doesn't answer a lot of questions, mostly raising new ones letting me fill in the gaps and therefore remains mysterious.
Fassbender is awesome. The ending is a little too dark for my taste though, but that's part of this franchise. Definitely getting it on Bluray, watching Prometheus and this back to back should be pretty sweet.
Ridley Scott really expanded upon the alien universe and gave it all a deeper meaning, that's for sure. I like it, feels fresh but in the end, it becomes the same "kill or gets killed, blows it out the airlock" type of alien movie.
Now, a lot of people are complaining about the origin of the xenon that is supposedly revealed in this movie and I just want to say that if you look at the Xeno that appears in this film, it is totally different than the classic in all it's life stages. So no, the origin of the original xenon has not been revealed yet.
